Frank Lebo, Activities Director

Frank Lebo – I am from Coal Township, Pa. I am married, I have 3 children, 3 stepchildren, 4 Grandchildren and 8 cats, all rescues . . .. the cats I mean. I am the Life Enrichment Director here, I prefer Life Enrichment instead of ACTIVITY DIRECTOR, because I feel we do more than keep them busy with activities. We try to enrich their lives here with activities.
Within the Department, we plan MEANINGFUL activities. Something they enjoy and remember and look forward to again, not just something to do for the day. I have a great team, and that helps me so much, with more time to plan and organize different events for the residents.
I use humor to help people to forget about problems for a while. I feel if I can put a smile on your face, let you forget the negativity and let you laugh, cut down on tension, then I’ve done the job God wanted me to do that day.
The Life Enrichment program is vital to any healthcare facility, don’t get me wrong, the nurses and aides do an EXCELLENT job at taking care of the people. A nurse has on average roughly 8 minutes with each resident, where Life Enrichment gets HOURS per day, to let the residents openly talk about themselves, and not limit the conversation to just answering questions.
The entire staff here at Ridgeview works so well together. I know there may be rougher, tougher days than others, that’s just HEALTHCARE, but it’s such a pleasure to come to work with this great staff that is so willing to lend a hand.
